Letter Spacing

Uniform space added between all characters in a word or block of text.

When to use

  • Loose tracking on uppercase labels or eyebrow text
  • Tightening headlines for a polished, editorial look
  • Improving legibility of small-caps or all-caps text

Examples

  • 0.1em tracking on uppercase nav labels
  • -0.02em tracking on large display headings
